Thank you to OhioMeansJobs-Hancock County for visiting the high school yesterday! They brought virtual reality headsets which allowed students to explore career clusters such as Health Science, Manufacturing, Architecture & Construction, Law and Public Safety, Information Technology, and Hospitality. Mr. Bratt was assisting with a knee replacement surgery and Mussie was restoring power to a neighborhood! #BeABlackKnight

The students in grades 9-12 who are members of the Van Buren Chick-fil-A Leader Academy are currently accepting donations for their Do Good December project.
Students are collecting boxes of Kleenex, pairs of gloves, and winter hats to donate to City Mission in Findlay. All donations can be placed in the donation boxes found next to the HS/MS office, the superintendent's office, and the cafeteria.
The goal is to donate a total of at least 100 boxes of Kleenex, pairs of gloves, and winter hats to City Mission to support the work they do to help the people of our community. No donation is too small because it will all have a positive impact. If we receive more than 100 items, that's even better!
You can follow the Leader Academy on Instagram at vbhscfaleaderacademy to monitor progress toward the goal.
The last day to donate is MONDAY, DECEMBER 18, so don't delay!
If you have any questions about donating, please contact Brian Bratt at bbratt@vbschools.net or 419-299-3384 x407.

Congrats to Lawsyn on his Positive Behavior Referral!

Hometown Heroes is a project sponsored by Lowes. Van Buren Middle School was chosen as their focus project this year and received 2 grills for school use, shelves in or near every bathroom, tables with umbrellas in the new parking area, and fold-down hallway tables in the middle school. Thank you Lowes for the donations and for installing all the new additions for us!

Mrs. Potteiger and her student, Greyson, along with the entire class, took the time to send letters to Donovan Reyes, who is deployed on the USS Gerald Ford off the coast of Israel!
