Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Tunnel to Towers visit to Van Buren last week. Van Buren students in grades 5-12 and students from Cory-Rawson, Liberty-Benton, Carey, and Riverdale visited the exhibit last Thursday and Friday, and it was open to the public last Saturday during the Apple Butter Fest.
We would specifically like to thank Jack Marshall, who was integral in bringing the exhibit to Van Buren; Jenn Barrett, VB Middle School principal, who organized the logistics of the visit along with Mr. Marshall; Bill Kowalski, a retired FBI agent whose grandchildren attend Van Buren; Chris Couchot, an Army veteran whose children attend Van Buren; and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation staff, who worked with us to bring this opportunity to our students and community.
We also appreciate the sponsors who made the Tunnel to Towers visit possible, including the Hancock County Community Foundation Education Grant, Mariann Dana Younger Fund, VFW 5645, FOP 20, Liberty-Benton Middle School students and staff, VB Lions Club, Flag City Morning Rotary, Findlay Kiwanis, Dan and Susan Keyser, Hitchings Insurance, Hancock Hotel, Texas Roadhouse, Beer Barrel Pizza and Grill, and a number of anonymous donors.
