Meet Mrs. Sattler, the new High School Intervention Specialist! She has a masters in school counseling, and is joining us from North Baltimore. She loves baking, enjoying the outdoors, and it has been a goal of her’s to work here at Van Buren! #BeABlackKnight

Our Industrial Technology department has gotten their brand new embroidery machine up and running! So far embroidering knight heads has been a staple for the machine! #BeABlackKnight

This weekend our students achieved great titles at two State events! The BKMB scored all 1’s at their State competition, and the three VB cross country runners that went to state as individuals ran extremely well! #BeABlackKnight

Any juniors and seniors considering the GROB Engineering Apprenticeship in Bluffton as part of their post-high school path are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming apprenticeship tours. Registration is required as spots are limited, so sign up soon. As of the writing of this post, there are 19 openings remaining for the Saturday, December 4, 2021 tour; 26 openings for the Saturday, January 22, 2022 tour; and 30 openings for the Saturday, February 19, 2022 tour. Don't forget about the 2nd Empowered for Life event at Van Buren Local Schools this weekend on Saturday, November 6th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Van Buren High School Gymnasium! This FREE event is being sponsored by various businesses and groups in our community and is open to all ages. The instructor for the class will be Soke Nowlhas Caseres, Ph. D., 10th Degree Black Belt, of Ki Haku Dojo of Findlay. He will be teaching everyone about self-awareness, self-empowerment and basic self-defense skills.
