Please see the following message from Hancock Public Health that was shared with all county schools: "As we gear up to the upcoming school year, we have received a number of calls to the health department from parents asking where they can get their children vaccinated. Due to this demand, we will be having a Pfizer vaccination clinic on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 4:00pm to 6:05pm here at Hancock Public Health, 2225 Keith Pkwy, Findlay. The second dose clinic will be Thursday, September 2, 2021. We have created a Sign-Up Genius link for parents to register their children if they are interested. Quarantine recommendations are largely based off vaccination status, and it is imperative for anyone 12 or older be vaccinated as soon as possible to prevent further unnecessary spread of COVID-19. Please share the link to the Sign-Up Genius with parents of students ages 12+ as soon as possible. Once this clinic fills, we will assess options for having another clinic to meet demand." Let’s be pro-active! Let’s help insure our student’s safety by giving our youth the opportunity and tools to learn how to handle themselves, if they get into an uncomfortable situation. Due to the unfortunate increased awareness of bullying and alleged assaults currently happening in our county, state and country, there will be a FREE self-awareness and protection class on July 31, 2021 starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Van Buren Elementary School Cafeteria, at 217 South Main St, Van Buren. The Solheim Cup is coming to Toledo's Inverness Club August 31-September 6, and 2017 Van Buren graduate Adysson Miller is already in the middle of the action as a Solheim Cup intern working to be sure everything is ready for Team USA and Team Europe to complete in less than two months. The first is the Van Buren MS/HS Cafeteria Transformation Project and the other one is The Quest: Plan on a Page. The Cafeteria Project has a video with it and an opportunity for you to provide feedback if you wish to do so. The Quest: is the academic plan for the upcoming school year. The Plan on a Page is a summary of what Van Buren's goals are with Facilities, Finance and Academics. You have an opportunity to provide feedback on this document if you wish.
