Today, Mr. Baughman shared clues with the students about what this year's musical will be. Do you have any guesses as to what it could be? Mr. Baughman will be announcing the answer this Friday, so stay tuned to see if your guess is correct and be sure to mark your calendar to see the performance on March 17, 18, 19, and 20!

This week our amazing BKMB will be fine tuning their show in preparation for OMEA State Marching Band Finals at Medina HS on Saturday. These 45 kids (37 HS students and 8 MS students) have put in hundreds of hours to reach amazing heights this year. To begin, our kids are competing as a Class B band when our school enrollment classifies us as a Class C. This places BKMB in a class competing against larger bands. Yet, our kids have competed and won 1st place in Class B at all 5 of their competitions this year! One of those competitions was with half of our guard and another was with an incomplete show! BKMB has also qualified for State at all 5 shows (again with an incomplete show and missing members)! Good luck this weekend! #BeABlackKnight

I asked for questions and I had a question about lunch for tomorrow. I assumed this was a question many might have so I am sharing with all. Elementary will be serving honey barbeque rib sandwich, baked beans, assorted fruit, crackers or chips. Middle and high school will be serving Fiestada Pizza, corn, side salad and assorted fruit. All lunches will be served with milk. Have a great eventing.

Good Sunday evening! A reminder to get out and vote if you have not for the school board election. Again, 4 incumbents and 4 candidates are running for 4 seats. Please research all 8 and make decisions that will benefit the students at Van Buren. If you have any questions about our district, I would be happy to answer or direct you to someone who can. If you have questions about curriculum, facilities, or finance, I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you to help answer your questions or listen to you concerns. Have a great week.

Tomorrow is Knights Fest! Unfortunately the weather doesn't look like it will cooperate and we may have to cancel the parade at 2PM. We will make a decision mid morning tomorrow and communicate this out to everyone.

Representatives from GROB in Bluffton will be in the Community Room at 12:05 P.M. Tuesday, November 2, to talk to students who are interested in learning more about GROB's apprenticeship program. It is a great opportunity as participants in the apprenticeship will earn a college degree with no debt (even being paid their hourly wage while taking college classes!), gain on-the-job experience, be given great benefits (medical, dental, vision paid 100%; 401k with a 3% company match; a free catered lunch daily), and much more. If you would like your students to learn more about this amazing opportunity, please have them complete the form at bit.ly/GROBapprenticeship so they can be released from class to attend. Even if students aren't 100% sure they want to participate in the apprenticeship, it is always good to be aware of the options available. If you have any questions about this opportunity, please contact bbratt@vbschools.net.
