Congrats Louden on your Positive Behavior Referral!

The middle school students and students from our classrooms of exceptional children get together to create wonderful experiences while creating unique projects. This experience began last year during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in March and, by popular demand by both students and educators, has continued this year and will continue ALL year! We are also excited to share that we have added our preschool classroom to our rotation! #BeABlackKnight

The Van Buren 8th grade class is gearing up for their annual "Mr. Yunker Day of Service''. They are planning to rake in the Village on Friday, November 11th. If you would like to have your yard raked, please email agreer@vbschools.net or call the school (419-299-3384) and give them your name and address. Additionally, they are looking for rake donations. If you would like to donate a rake, please also contact agreer@vbschools.net or the school.

Everyone say hello to our new 6-12 Choral Director, Miss Christina Csernyik! She graduated from BGSU in 2021 and then had the opportunity to teach at Genoa High School for one year before finally calling Van Buren her home. Welcome to VB Miss Csernyik!

Juniors and seniors will have the opportunity tomorrow (Wednesday, October 19) to listen to a presentation by Sigma Technologies, Ltd., during lunch in the Community Room. Students can bring their lunches to the meeting and learn about career opportunities (both with and without a college degree) with this local (Perrysburg) company.
Sigma specializes in designing telecommunications, power distribution, and outside plant infrastructure, civil engineering, professional engineering, CAD, construction management, and more.
Any students whose YouScience brain games results indicated that they have the aptitude to excel in career clusters like architecture and construction, computers and technology, and engineering are encouraged to attend to hear about a business where they could apply those skills either directly out of high school (they are looking to hire HS graduates so they can train and employ them) or after college. Attending this meeting could also lead to an opportunity for students to pursue participating in a Beyond VB internship with Sigma.
Anyone wanting to learn more about Sigma Technologies, Ltd., before the meeting can visit the company website at https://teamsigma.com/. Sigma Project Engineer and VB graduate Emily (Weiler) Crego will be the speaker on Wednesday.
Students received a form in their e-mail and on Schoology where they can reserve their spot at tomorrow's informational meeting, so parents are free to encourage their students to complete the form and attend the meeting.

Love playing cornhole with your friends? Hancock Youth Leadership is partnering with the Special Olympics on November 19th for a one-day single-elimination cornhole tournament. We are currently looking for teams of two that would be interested! The cost per team is $20. Money can be sent to the VBHS main office. Please have the $20 in an envelope with the members of your team and "Cornhole Tournament" written on the outside. Those who register early will receive a bye in the bracket. Registration also puts you in a drawing for a cornhole board.

**Students will practice public speaking skills that will help them throughout the rest of their lives.
**Students can accumulate hours toward the Community Service Graduation Seal.
**Students will receive a recommendation letter from the YIELD leaders.
