The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library Bookmobile will be at Van Buren on Monday, May 9, from 11:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. Middle and high school students can visit the bookmobile during their lunch periods, so if students have a FHCPL card, please be sure they have their cards so they can check out books. Students can also place holds on books using the FHCPL website (www.findlaylibrary.org) and pick those up on the bookmobile as long as they identify the bookmobile as the pick-up location (they still need to have their library cards with them). Students who don't have library cards can visit the library in Findlay (206 Broadway St.) to register for a card. Parents must be present with their children and have two forms of identification (one must be a photo ID). The bookmobile will be making one final stop at the school from 11:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. on May 23.

If you have a senior who is about to graduate and isn't quite sure where to go after high school, here is a great career opportunity with Cooper Tire in their Mold Technology & Engineering Advancement Program. Here are the highlights: Graduates would be working at Cooper's Mold Technology facility in Tall Timbers that is focused on designing the molds that are used to produce tires. Graduates would work 18-24 hours per week while rotating through the different departments in the facility. They could expect to earn at least $15.00/hr. to start and receive increases during their time there. Graduates could also be working toward a two-year degree of their choice (engineering, etc.) at a local two-year or trade school (the graduate chooses the school). Cooper would pay up to $8,000/year toward the graduate's education. After completing the two-year degree, the graduate would be committed to working at Cooper for two additional years. The BEST news? The graduate would have a high probability of graduating debt-free with a highly valuable degree, a good salary, and a full-time job! If any current seniors have a strong work ethic, enjoy math, and like to solve problems, this could be a great opportunity. Those who are interested can apply at https://careers.coopertire.com/job/Findlay-OH-Mold-Operations-Advancement-Program-Internship-OH-45839/816066000/. If seniors have any questions about this opportunity or need help identifying a post-high school career path, updating a résumé, preparing for an interview, etc., they can visit bit.ly/VBcareeradvising (case-sensitive) to set up a meeting so they can be fully prepared for their post-high school lives.
