While the everyday rhythms of school have become familiar to students again by this point in October, our new classified and certified staff have been in rhythm since starting in August or even earlier.
While classified staff work in non-teaching positions sometimes behind the scenes and sometimes directly with students, they have a significant impact on the smooth operation of our school district. We are glad to have a variety of new staff filling essential roles: Mrs. Amanda Allshouse (teacher aide), Mrs. Rachel Atkins (teacher aide), Mrs. Shannon Bennett (teacher aide), Mr. Jeffrey Flick (bus driver), Mr. Ken Head (custodian), Ms. Heidi Mercer (teacher aide), Mr. Garrett McCoy (technology assistant), Mrs. Jennifer Patterson (custodian), Mr. Terry Sammet (custodian), Mr. Kevin Schroeder (custodian/maintenance), Ms. Jenny Underwood (bus driver), Mrs. Sarah Wagner (noon monitor), and Ms. Paige Wallen (teacher aide).

When students returned to the classroom in September, they found three new certified staff who hold teaching licenses had joined our school district. In the elementary school, Mrs. Morgan Ream (K-2 Intervention Specialist) and Loveda Watts (Gifted) joined the teaching staff, and in the high school, Mrs. Mel Napierata (English/Language Arts) joined our team.
Being successful as a school district is truly a team effort, and we look forward to the skills each of these new team members will contribute to our success. Keep reading to discover the knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm our new certified staff bring to Van Buren.

The next time you see these new additions to our school district, please be sure to introduce yourself and welcome them to Van Buren!
