This type of public health situation and school closures can create a great deal of stress for families. Changes in schedules and switching to online/remote instruction can be a challenge. This stress can be challenging to navigate when added to growing fears related to worrying about our family's health. This is true for both parents and students.
Cheri May, VBES school counselor, has shared resources to support families with stress reduction, which will be deployed upon an extended closure. These resources focus on positive interactions with "family fun" activities and relaxation strategies.
