Van Buren Students, Families, Alumni, Faculty and Staff, and Community,
As the 2024-2025 school year draws to a close, I would like to thank everyone who has played a part in making it successful for our district.
Students, you are the reason people in our district do what they do every day. You are the driving force behind our mission statement as we work to build thinkers, connections, and experiences to prepare you for whatever you will face in your future education, career, and life.
Families of our students, we could not do our jobs without the support you provide to students while they are both at home and at school. We all know from our own experiences that growing up can be difficult at times, but with a quality support system, we can work together to develop our students into young adults who are ready to excel in their post-high school lives.
Alumni, you have already completed your time at Van Buren, but you are no less important to us today than on the last day you walked the halls as a student. You are the mentors to whom our students can look to explore the career and life opportunities awaiting them after 13 short years of primary and secondary education. You have made us proud through the positive impact you are having on our world as parents, citizens, employees, employers, and leaders.
School faculty and staff, just like this school wouldn’t exist without the students, it also wouldn’t exist without you. Our days start with bus drivers transporting students while maintenance staff prepare the buildings. Teachers, office staff, noon monitors, Nurse Judy, cafeteria staff, counselors, and administrators often work from before sunrise to after sunset to create a welcoming educational environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Bus drivers, maintenance staff, teachers, coaches, and music directors then work late into the night to continue providing opportunities for students to grow into responsible, resilient, and respectful young adults.
Van Buren Local School District community, you are the backbone of our district. Because of you, we can provide our students with educational experiences that help them build connections and develop into thinkers. Because of you, our district came together to pass our renewal levy last November to maintain the services we provide to students. Because of you, our future is bright as we continue to develop graduates with the skills needed to achieve their post-high school goals.
Our success requires a team effort, and we have a strong team. Enjoy the rest of the school year and have a safe graduation season and summer. We look forward to seeing everyone again on Tuesday, September 2, 2025!
