Welcome Dr. Jason Inkrott, Superintendent

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! On behalf of the entire Van Buren Local School District, we are excited to greet all of our fantastic students as they return for their first day of school on Tuesday, September 6th.

I want to take a moment to introduce myself to the Van Buren community. After graduating from Ottawa-Glandorf High School, I attended college at the University of Dayton and remained in the greater Dayton area following graduation. I worked 17 years for an excellent suburban school district, Northmont City Schools. During that time, I was a high school math teacher, a unit principal, and a building principal. While working, I furthered my education by earning my master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Dayton. Over the years, my wife, Laura, who’s also from Northwest Ohio, and I realized that we needed to be closer to family, and we missed the many benefits this area has to offer. My wife and I have one daughter, Julianne, who just turned seven.

Looking ahead to this school year, I am beyond excited to be a Black Knight and to work with the dedicated students, staff, and community. The Van Buren community has a phenomenal reputation of excellence and I look forward to furthering this reputation. Finally, I want to acknowledge Brian Blum, the former superintendent, for his leadership and contributions to the Van Buren Local School District.

I look forward to working with everyone this school year as we continue to meet our mission of “Building Connections. Building Experiences. Building Thinkers.”
