Van Buren Board of Education Organizational Meeting Update - Budget Hearing
As part of the district budget planning, the first step is the preparation and adoption of the annual tax budget. All school districts in the State of Ohio are political subdivisions - taxing authorities - The county auditor treats the finances of the district in much the same way as a county, township, or other municipality. The budgetary laws governing political subdivisions in the state can be found in Section 5705 of the Ohio Revised Code.
The hearing this evening allows for public comment on the budget submission to the county auditor.
