VB News: School District Passes State Audit

The Van Buren Local School District is proud to announce that because of the hard work of Treasurer Mrs. Cathy Schuller and her staff, the annual audit of district finances concluded that all public funds have been properly accounted for and appropriately allocated. This confirms the district’s continued commitment to being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.

On Monday, May 4, Mr. Scott Sands, Northwest Regional Liaison for Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber, Mr. Kevin Pegish, Senior Audit Manager Northwest Region, and Brianna Lucius, Assistant Auditor, met with Schuller, Assistant Treasurer-Accounts Payable Mrs. Melanie Feather, Assistant Treasurer-Payroll & Benefits Mrs. Jennifer Putman, and Superintendent Dr. Jason Inkrott to review the audit findings.

The treasurer's office staff and Dr. Inkrott meet with representatives of Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber to discus the audit findings.

The audit provides independent verification that public funds were expended accurately in compliance with applicable requirements and for a valid public purpose. We appreciate everyone in the treasurer’s office for their work and guidance throughout the audit process.
