Casey Morman started as the new Van Buren Schools Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor in February 2024. Morman, who is originally from Ottawa, graduated from Ottawa-Glandorf High School and attended the University of Northwest Ohio (UNOH) in Lima, where he earned his associate degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technology.
After earning his degree, Morman was employed at Blanchard Valley Health System as an HVAC Technician for nearly a decade before transitioning to his current position at Van Buren Schools.
Since starting in February, his main focus has been addressing issues with the HVAC systems in the elementary and middle schools, resulting in the installation of a new chiller in the elementary and a new condenser in the middle school to ensure that both systems were fully operational for the start of the 24-25 school year. Additional projects he has led since February include installing/repairing exhaust fans in the elementary, middle, and high school kitchens and throughout the buildings; repairing HVAC controls and incrementally installing automated flush systems in the bathrooms throughout the district; cleaning catch basins; sealing the front parking lot; replacing windows with broken seals in the 2003 addition; and leading the general maintenance of all indoor and outdoor school facilities.
Morman and his wife, Abby, have a son, Maverick, and a dog, Lincoln. He uses the knowledge he has gained over his working career to purchase, renovate, and rent houses and is a self-taught drummer who performs with the band Redfeather.
