The High School Concert Choir
is one of four choirs that
serves students at Van Buren High School. Singing a variety of vocal selections,
including ones from the Renaissance, Classical, and modern
eras, as well as music from many other genres, the Concert Choir
seeks out high-quality music to learn more about and
perform. The group
also competes at OMEA Large-Group Adjudicated Events,
earning state Superior (I) rankings in 1956 (as a Girl's
Chorus), 1994, 1999, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008,
most recently in Class A.
Groups that branch off from
the Concert Choir include the Men's and Women's Choruses
and the show choir The Association.
